UPDATES FOR 2017: The Shamrock Run will feature new routes for all distances! We have been required by the City of Portland to redesign our courses because of severe police staffing limitations.
Note that in 2017 the Shamrock Stride 4-Mile Walk will have its own route and will not follow a run course.
START LOCATION: All events start at SW Naito Parkway and Pine, adjacent to Waterfront Park. The 5k, 15k and Stride Walk start going south in the southbound lanes of Naito. The Shamrock Half and 8k start going north in the northbound lanes of Naito.
FINISH LOCATIONS: The finish line for these events will be at SW Yamhill and Naito: 5k Run, 15k, Half and Shamrock Stride Walk. Participants will be finishing north in the northbound lanes of SW Naito.
The finish line for the 8k is at SW Stark and Naito running south in the southbound lanes.
The finish line for the Blazers Leprechaun Lap is at SW Pine and Naito.
All race distances are USATF-certified.

STARTING PROCEDURE FOR ALL EVENTS
All Shamrock events (except the Leprechaun Lap) will be started with a “release and hold” system. Runners are to line up behind their appropriate per-mile pace sign held overhead in the assembly area. Runners will be released in groups of 500 to 1000 participants every 30 to 90 seconds to allow the field to spread out and to minimize congestion along the route, especially in the first mile.
The chip-timing system will not record a starting time for a runner until that runner has crossed the timing mats at the start line. Time spent waiting to cross the start line is NOT included in the scored finish time for a runner.
