Half Marathon
It’s a 13.1-mile St. Patrick’s Day party! The Shamrock Half Marathon is one of the premer road races in the state of Oregon. A perfect goal for healthy New Year’s Resolutions or am ideal tune up for spring marathon training, this is THE half-marathon to run in Portland.

Event Information
PARKING
There are multiple parking areas in Downtown Portland within walking distance of the start and finish lines of the Shamrock Run Portland. Review the Parking page of our website for updated information.
AID STATIONS
There are aid stations at miles 1.5, 2.75, 5.2, 6.8, 8.8, and 12.5. The aid stations will provide water and Gatorade Lemon Lime.
GEAR CHECK
Gear check will be located in a large tent in Waterfront Park near The Morrison Bridge — identified as “Gear Check”. Participants can leave their warm-up clothing for safe-keeping during the event.
Gear Check will open to drop off bags at 7:00am and must be picked up no later than 12:30pm. Please do not check backpacks, keys, wallets, purses or other valuables, however. Gear is checked at your own risk. The race is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged bags.
Clear, plastic, gear check bags will be available for pick-up at the Race Expo and on race morning at the Gear Check tent.
COURSE TIME LIMIT
The course time limit for the half marathon is 3:10. All participants must maintain a 15 minute/mile pace when competing in the half marathon to ensure they finish within the time limit.
AWARDS
The top 3 male and female finishers in each age group will receive a commemorative item. The age groups can be found below:
14 and under, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75+
AGE MINIMUM
All participants must be 13 years of age or older on race day. All participants must be runners or joggers.

COURSE DESCRIPTION
The Shamrock Half Marathon starts at SW Pine Street and runs north to the turnaround point on NW Front near Nicolai. The course continues south, passing Pine Street, and then joins the 15K route, charging up Barbur Blvd and taking on the Terwilliger incline up to OHSU before crossing the finish line at Yamhill. Total elevation gain of 859 feet and the views are worth the climb.
