The Shamrock Run Portland is returning on Sunday, March 17, 2024!  This page provides information about road closures, access routes and event activities to help the local community and visitors plan ahead for their weekend in Portland. Information regarding road closures and community access is now available.

Event Information

An exciting weekend of events will kick off on Friday, March 15th, when the doors open to the Race Expo, which is free and open to the public. Shop the event merchandise store, visit with local vendors, check out the latest in the active lifestyle space, and take advantage of our plentiful photo opportunities.

A full weekend of running will feature a half marathon, 15K, 8K, 5K, Stride Walk, and Kids Run on Sunday, March 17th.  Visit our event schedule for more details!

Resident & Spectator Information

The 46th annual Shamrock Run will be held on Sunday, March 17 in downtown Portland with 15,000 participants.  Listed below are the various streets that will have temporary closures for the event:

Naito Parkway/Front Avenue, between NW Everett and NW 26th Avenue will be closed in both directions from 7:30am to 11:45am.
Naito Parkway, from NW Davis to SW Jefferson, will be closed in both directions from 3:00am to 1:15pm.
SW Naito Parkway, from SW Columbia to SW Barbur Blvd, will be closed in both directions from 7:00am to 1:15pm
SW Barbur Blvd SOUTHBOUND only, from SW Sheridan to SW Hamilton, will be closed from 7:15am to 1:00pm
SW Barbur Blvd SOUTHBOUND only, from SW Hamilton to SW Parkhill, will be closed from 7:15am to 11:30am
SW Capitol Highway from SW Barbur to SW Terwilliger will be closed in BOTH directions from 7:15am to 11:30am
SW Terwilliger Boulevard, NORTHBOUND ONLY, from SW Capitol Highway to SW 6th Avenue, will be closed from 7:15am to 12:30pm

All downtown streets WEST of SW 1st Avenue will remain open all morning.

All bridges will remain open in both directions throughout the event.  However, the ramp to Barbur Blvd at the west end of the Ross Island Bridge will be closed from 6:00am until 1:00pm

Plan Your Route

Residents, businesses and visitors to the area are urged to plan ahead.  Allow extra time for travel due to road closures and traffic delays.

No Parking

Streets along the race course will be marked with No Parking signs. Unfortunately, vehicles in violation of these posted signs will be ticketed and towed at the owners’ expense. Please make sure you are not parked in a temporary no-parking zone.
